About Nancy

I find a mindfulness-based approach to be consistent with the following therapies which I incorporate into my work:  Carl Rogers’ core conditions; systemic and brief therapy models; 12-step programs; and several sexual abuse treatment strategies.  While providing a safe and supportive environment, I encourage my clients to examine their beliefs and memories non-judgmentally in order to promote growth and change.

My beliefs and values are grounded in Buddhist teaching and meditation practice. This practice keeps me focused on the fundamentals of how we change and achieve inner peace – with acceptance, compassion, faith, wisdom and courage.

I have a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Chico (1978) and have been licensed as a Professional Counselor in Oregon since 1991.  I pursue training in counseling by completing 20 hours of continuing education annually.
